Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber MIRA 05/08 Unabridged Audio

My 100th eHarl book and what a good one it was. Actually I've started July off reading some awesome eHarl imprints. I'm looking forward to seeing more reviews on the Seduction Summer Series and I love the Blossom Street and the Cedar Cove books. I'm kinda glad I didn't read them before as now I can read them so close together.

Anne Marie Roche is looking for happiness again, she's been so lonely and lost since her husband's death. On Valentine's Day she gets together with some of her widowed friends and they start making their lists of twenty things they most want to do. This was a very emotion filled book but it had quite a few laugh out loud moments. I love how Debbie Macomber can take lifes ups and downs and weave them into an awesome story. Another one of my favorites, they just keep getting better.

194 Total Books, 100th eHarl, 93 others, 3 for Penn's Challenge, 0 for Vikki's. Now that I have some of the newer releases out of the way I need to get back to reading from my TBR pile escept I saw some awesome reviews for some HP's and added them to my always growing piles.

this was a very emotional

this was a very emotional book and it actually got me thinking about if any of the local schools here do any sort of programs like the lunchbuddies that would work for me. I actually DID find a reading buddies program quite by accident through my church and I'm planning to e-mail them to find out more about it.

I did miss seeing Lydia and company though. She has a cameo but it wasn't quite the same as having a story revolving around A Good Yarn.

I did enjoy getting to meet more folks in town though and it was nice to visit with Elise again and see how she's been doing since Maverick died.

I was almost

I was almost heartbroken when I found out Maverick died. He was a great character and Elise only had three years with him. It was like losing an actual family member I'm so caught up in this series. I laughed with Barbie though and her chasing Mark.

yeah I felt awful for Elise

yeah I felt awful for Elise too. Even though once he admits his real reasons for coming back in Back on Blossom Street and we knew it was coming, I still was crushed over it! I wish they could have had more time together.

The whole Barbie/Mark thing was a riot. I loved how she was all about chasing him and he was mean as all get out trying to scare her off.

I almost howled

when she spilled her drink and then her popcorn in his lap. I have tears in my eyes again just thinking about it.

I know! I loved that part.

I know! I loved that part. This book did seem to have a lot more humor in it then some of the otehrs in the series. And mostly because of Barbie and Mark (but then again with a name like Barbie and she herself saying people made Barbie jokes because of her appearance... I knew there's be some funny

I also loved the scene in

I also loved the scene in the pool - where she sees him and buys the suit and then figures out she can't keep up with him or the others.  I also loved the scenes with Anne Marie, although at times, I wanted to smack her.  Overall, an excellent book and I am looking forward to my next trip to Blossom Street.

I'm so glad I finally

I'm so glad I finally decided to give Debbie's books a try. She fast moved up into the ranks of my favorite authors. And it's books like Twenty Wishes and Blossom Street that made it happen.

I wanted to smack her a few times myself then in the next book I wanted to smack John more. I have really gotten into these books and hope they continue for quite sometime.

Next book -- wait I thought

Next book -- wait I thought 20 wishes was the latest Blossom Street Book, is there another out there that I have missed?

I'm so confused

I'm so confused!! Senior moment again, I got off on the wrong series. I just finished reading the next Cedar Cove book and got Anne Marie and Mary Ellen confused. I'm bad with names and must not have been paying attention to what book I was supposed to be talking about. I was referring to 6 Rainier Dr. Sorry I got your hopes up.
