The Tycoon's Princess Bride by Natasha Oakley (HP 2667)
Back Cover:
Tall, dark and dangerous -- the man from Mont Avellana. Black-hearted billionare Domenic Vincini wants the lush riches of rival island Niroli, including the jewel in Niroli's crown--Princes Isabella Fierezza. She's forbidden, but to Dominic, a man scarred inside and out, that makes here innocence all the more appealing. If Isabella gives in to temptation she'll tie herself -- and her kingdom -- to its sworn enemy.
Favourite Scene:
But when she’d looked at him, really looked at the discoloured and puckered skin on his shoulder, the scars that crisscrossed his body, there’d been no repulsion in her eyes.
None.
It had been the most intensely sexual moment of his entire life. Her eyes had travelled down the length of his body. She’d seen every imperfection, must have seen his arousal…
And she’d not rejected him.
Another Fav Scene: (I liked that he wasn't casual about sex)
His thumb moved again. ‘I should have thought about it, but Jolanda was the only woman I’ve ever made love to.’
Until last night. Isabella looked up. She hadn’t expected that and yet, the more she thought about it, the more she thought she should have done.
‘I’ve never had a lifestyle where I’ve needed to carry condoms in my top pocket.
I’m sorry.’
My Review:
I'm not usually a fan of stories about royalty, but this was a nice one. The hero was damaged, he'd lost his wife and baby in a fire and he'd been scarred. What I loved about the hero was how capable of love he was, he'd been so loving with his first wife, and he'd been faithful to her. He only had two lovers: his first wife (teenage sweethearts) and the heroine, and that said a lot about how deeply he loves and feels loss. I think they were well-matched as people, the heroine had a very soothing effect on the hero, their personalities meshed and meant they both benefited being close to the other. I think this is a love-match that will really last. The hero knows the heroine better than anyone else knows her, he knows that when she gives a "polite" answer it really means she doesn't personally care for what she thinks she should. The heroine gives the hero unconditional love, and what's great about this book is that it really is an unconditional and unselfish love, she is willing to be with him despite pubic criticism.
My Rating: 4/5 stars, this was a great loving love story, very mature feelings with great steam to go along with it.
