The Unknown Twin

Lauren Conway works for the Courier making comic strips of "dee and me". Dee is Laurens alter ego and childhood imaginary friend. When her office building catches on fire, and Lauren is napping away Alex Shiels, fire fighter captain, saves her life. Alex keeps calling her Dana, and she can't figure out why. It turns out this "Dana" looks exactly like her!  When Alex's mother starts looking into  Lauren and Dana's birth, weird things start happening. The families struggle for truth, and battle the odds to find out that Dana and Lauren are twins, but neither the Conoways or Ivies are their parents. When Alex's mother continues her research into the matter, Lauren vents to a Dr.Yube, a friend of hers. Along the way Yube comes over for dinner, and when Lauren comes out of the room and back in she sees Yube strangling her kitten and tossing him out the window. When he sees her she pretends nothings happening. The door bell rings, and its Dana, and Lauren tries to tell her to leave for her own safety but she pushes through to find Dr. Yube now with a gun pointed at the two. When the two little kittens ( one some how still alive but cute addition to story), distract Yube the girls attact. A bullet grazes Laurens arm, and Dana comes out bruised. The girls then decide to find their biological parents, and when they do they explain everything thats happened, in the past and currently. When all is settled, its up to Lauren to settle her realationship with Alex. She loves him and he loves her, but she scared to be with him. When she finally does over come her fear, she asks Alex to forgive her , and Alex asks her to marry him.
