Arachne’s web has spread and now her children are involved….
Lilith has always been alone. Even as others surround her, she knows that human touch is impossible for her. After all, a single touch of her skin is so poisonous that death ensues instantly. Now, a woman claiming to be her half-sister through genetic manipulation has breached Lilith’s quiet world and wreaked destruction. Lilith has no choice but to chase after her with the help of a worldly warrior, Tarak Hammer-Smith. Can Lilith stop her deadly sister? And will she risk her heart to Tarak when her very touch can kill?
Stephanie Doyle takes on what is an unthinkable task- creating a romantic suspense story in which the heroine’s actual skin is deadly. I must admit, I had reservations despite being intrigued by the concept. How in the world would Ms. Doyle make this work and still make it reasonable? And yet, she succeeds… and quite well, I should add!
Stephanie Doyle takes readers on a dark journey with UNTOUCHABLE. Lilith’s lonely plight is heart wrenching and it is appropriate that she finds comfort among the lepers. Her awakening to her powers and her own sense of self is beautiful, especially as it pertains to the value of human touch.
UNTOUCHABLE is part of the ongoing Athena Force continuity series. It can be read as a stand alone, but is probably best appreciated in context of at least reading FLASHPOINT (by Connie Hall) and BENEATH THE SURFACE (by Meredith Fletcher) as the plotline focuses on Arachne and her vast web. Without at least a bit of that background, some of the plot of UNTOUCHABLE might seem a bit unbelievable as the genetic manipulation concept has been steadily built over the course of the series and the nefarious fruits are coming forth in these later books. Stephanie Doyle is an author who tends to provide unusual aspects to her books and this is again the case with UNTOUCHABLE. Very enjoyable!

You're ahead
You're ahead of me in this series, I need to get busy and finish them. I need to read Beneath the Surface next. I've missed you this last week have you been gone. Thought maybe you were on vacation too.

I have...
I thought I would have a bit more access to the computer but it tends to shut down etc. on my constantly and it was just too difficult to keep up with this site this week. If I'd realized, I'd have posted an "I'll be back in a week" message but.... anyway, it's been an exhausting week as I've been helping my parents move into their new house and get things unpacked, etc. Very tiring and it's been around 100 degrees so Florida is going to seem cool tomorrow when I get home!
As for this book, it was a lot of fun but I'm glad I read them in order or I'm not so sure I would have enjoyed this one as much. I started the next one and last one (I guess) but I haven't had much time to read so not far into it at all!

I am...
although I really feel for my brother since he did all the original move. I came up after they'd been in the house a week because that's when they knew they'd need me to help more. But heading home tomorrow! I actually would stay longer but I have to work on Tuesday and I need to have a bit of rest before then.
