I liked this story. This is the first in the in the Denver Westmoreland’s. Anyone who’s read any of Ms. Jackson’s Westmoreland of Atlanta series will enjoy meeting the newest members of the family. The Westmoreland’s are a very family oriented group, which is what lead to them being discovered by the Atlanta branch of the family. That quest sparked the Denver branch to find explore their family tree more in-depth. Dillon Westmoreland became the head of this branch of Westmoreland after the tragic deaths of his mother, father, aunt and uncle. As the eldest sibling among his brothers, sisters and cousin it fell to him to take on the family patriarch role. It is a role that left me feeling he took on begrudgingly but willingly nonetheless. You feel the strength in him and grow to admire all that he’s endured and sacrificed for this family. While exploring his family’s history he meets the woman of his dream. As with all Westmoreland’s he’s not looking for love, it just sort of finds him. Pamela Novak has the same family values that Dillon has, as she too, will sacrifice her own happiness for the welfare of her three sisters. You feel the kindred spirit of these too and know they were meant to be together.
What I did not like was that the Atlanta branch being cheated out of some new aunts and uncles and how the heroine came across as week and gullible.

There was a secret to Dillon Westmoreland’s heritage---and Pamela Novak had the key. Though the raven-haired beauty was ensnared by her shifty fiancé, Dillon---eldest of the Denver Westmoreland clan---couldn’t resist a mind-blowing night in her arms. And after that incredible passion…Well, once a Westmoreland claimed the woman he wanted, he wouldn’t let anything tear them apart.
