White Picket Fences

This is one of Ms. Quinn's early books.  I came across it in a little coffee shop in Nugent's Corner, Washington.  I promised to trade two more current books for it on my next visit through there.

Ms Quinn will tackle sometimes somewhat "taboo" topics.  This book was written in 2000.  She tackles betrayal and it's damaging aftereffects, but with a twist.  The hero of the story had been married before and his wife left him for another woman.  Having witnessed that with friends, I can empathize with the confusion and hesitancy to trust and get involved again that he experiences. The heroine has her own demons, not the least of which is an - at times - overriding need for control in her life.  These two damaged people come together.  And like most of the other books by her that I've read, I enjoyed it.
