I really enjoyed this Pack book. You don't have to have read the others in the series to read this one. In this book, the heroine, Raven, decides she is better off living on her own in the mountains. She is not aware that there are others like her who can shift from wolf to human and she has not had an easy life. The H, Simon, is investigating the sighting of a possible feral "wolf" and goes to check it out. He finds Raven and realizes she has never been with a pack. He befriends her and later has to protect her from someone who wants them dead.

From the back:

Turning her back on humans because of her ability to shape-shift into a wolf, young and beautiful Raven doesn't believe she needs anyone. Until the day a darkly handsome man appears near her remote cave and she watches him turn into a wolf.

Simon Caldwell has been sent to assess the threat of a new feral wolf prowling the Rockies. But he's wholly unprepared for his intense attraction to Raven. His investigation is about to take a deadly turn as survival depends on Simon's ability to win what this wild wolf hold most dear!

Hi Margie

Good review. I was considering getting this book and wondered if you had to read the others. It sounds like a good read.

Hi Mary

I read the PACK series from book one. It started in the SIM line before there was Nocturne. I've probably missed a couple of them so this book brought me back to the series. They are all able to be read separately and not in order in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize the series had started before the Nocturne books.

Hi Mary,

Yes, they started a bit before Nocturnes. To me, they were pretty much stand alone books. I didn't feel you have to read the others to enjoy them. The stories are about that particular h/H and what they are going through.

Yup, i have all of them,

Yup, i have all of them, including the first ones that were introduced.  I'm about to start slowing back on buying them all though. I've got so many, I'll never get them all read if I don't. The plan now is to finish buying books to series that are started...buy all favorite authors, and any new authors/series, that are seriously raved about.

It's going to be hard to cut way back...but then, the thought of years worth of them waiting to be read, "really" intimidates me too. lol
