The Wrong Hostage by Elizabeth Lowell, 2006
Suspense as only Elizabeth Lowell can do!
Judge Grace Silva believes in the law. She has worked herself from poverty to lawyer and now Federal Judge by following the law. Now that her son is being held hostage at an exclusive private school in Mexico she is ready to do whatever she needs to in order to save her son. The school will not release her son unless his father comes in person to sign him out. Grace has been trying to reach her ex-husband for days but he is not returning her calls or those from anyone else. He apparently has involved some of Mexico's most notorious criminals in an investment scheme, they want their money and they want it now! Her sons life means nothing to them.
Joe Faroe is one of the best kidnap specialists in the world but he is retired. He worked for the St. Kilda consulting group a company that could go where the US couldn't or wouldn't. When Grace contacts him it is a surprise considering their past history and the respect Grace has for the rules of the lasw. After hearing the reason she has found him after so many years Joe gets involved in trying to rescue her son while he is alive.
A tense often brutal story that was hard to put down. It didn't make me want to rush down to Mexico on vacation!!
It also made me think you should keep tabs on what your spouse/ex-spouse is up to!!!

Hi Donna
I read this one and it was good. I know you are having trouble with your computer. I hope things get fixed real soon. It is a bummer not having ready access to the web.
Margie :)
Hi Margie,
Thanks for stopping by. I haven't heard from my friend yet but I am hoping he will be able to come up tomorrow to install the new hard drive in my computer. When you are suddenly without the computer it brings home the fact how much you use it and depend on it. It has been so nice being able to use the one here where I am dog/house sitting. I'm also getting a lot of reading done, I just posted another book! It was all Christmas stories--did you know it is only a little over 6 months until Christmas!!
I have a friend that throughout the year sends out messages about how long it is until Christmas! It really cracks me up cause she will often times send the first one in January!!
I hope you are having a good weekend.
Take care, happy reading,

Hi Donna
I think I would be going nuts without my computer. You are really fortunate to be house sitting right now and have access to their computer.
I can't believe how fast the year is passing. I want it to slow down. This is just going by too fast.
Margie :)
