A Wrongful Death

Barbara is on vacation to her place on the Oregon coast.  She is out walking one day when a small child says his mother is hurt and she goes with him to their cottage.  She finds the woman who has been beat and left for dead.  She gets her as comfortable as she can, and has to leave to find help, there is no phone service in their area.  When she and help return, the woman and child are gone.  After she is back home she finds this woman and child are attached to a very important family.  This family think Barbara has done something with the woman and child and they set out to let the world think so too.  Barbara and her father, Frank, begin to delve into this mystery and find things are not always as they look.
